Helpful Tips for Installing Self-Adhesive Foil on Cars

In this video lesson Chris Cook, from 3M Commercial Graphics Australia, teaches us a technique by which you can easily cut already applied film over the vehicle.

If you need to cut car wrap film when it is already applied on the car surface, you should be very careful to do not scratch the original car paint.

Always use a sharp blade.

Preferably a new one. In order to control the pressure that you assert with the snap-off blade, it is recommended to make the blade longer.

Map out the cutting spot.

If its necessary – map out the cutting spot. The line, that you would make will point you and will prevent you from making mistakes during cutting.

Assert slight pressure!

This is the most important moment during cutting. You might scratch the paint with the blade of the cutter, so be careful with it.
