The new enhancements to 3M Color Stable IR are fully aligned with your needs
3M introduces the upgraded version of its well-known automotive window film series, now named Color Stable IR (CS-IR). The update comes with a range of improved features designed with both installers and end users in mind.
The key technical upgrade is the increased film thickness, which simplifies installation and reduces the risk of creasing and wrinkling during application. Additionally, the patented dye technology offers enhanced fade resistance, helping maintain interior color over time.
The new version also expands the range of visible light transmission (VLT) values. New options at 25%, 30%, and 70% are now available, providing more flexibility for personalization and compliance with local regulations.
3M Color Stable IR films incorporate ceramic nanotechnology to reject infrared (IR) energy without interfering with mobile or GPS signals. Compared to the previous series, the updated formula delivers up to 10% higher infrared rejection (IRER) and up to 4% improvement in total solar energy rejection (TSER).
It is also important to highlight the naming convention change. Previously, VLT values referred to measurements taken on clear glass. With the CS-IR series, the values now reflect the actual VLT on standard automotive green glass. This change makes it easier to select the appropriate film and ensure better alignment with local tinting regulations.
